Hatteras got it right with the 40 Double Cabin, a top-selling small
motor yacht whose sporty styling and versatile accommodations
set the standards in her class for many years. The last of the so-called
"small" Hatteras motor yachts, the 40 Double Cabin is built on a
modified-V hull with with a moderate 13'7" beam, cored hull sides,
and prop pockets to level the engines and reduce draft. 
The galley-down interior features a sectional sofa 
to port in the salon with a serving counter overlooking
the galley. The aft master stateroom includes a centerline queen.

Twin Cat 375 HP diesels economical cruise @ 8 knots provides a 375 mile range.

From the saloon, the master stateroom companionway is aft, a sectional sofa with sleeper to port, a flat screen TV is bulkhead mounted starboard forward, an accent chair and a side table are to starboard. Galley is down forward to port. Engine room access is via the saloon center hatch.

The full beam main stateroom is aft with a centerline queen size berth, 6 drawers on both sides of the centerline queen, reading lights, nightstands with drawers, opening side windows with curtains, transom hatch with curtains, storage drawers, hanging locker, full-length mirror, fan, and the ensuite main head with a stall shower.

The guest stateroom is forward with an expandable offset double berth to port, two port lights, reading lights, overhead hatch with a screen, anchor chain locker access, storage drawers, hanging locker. The guest stateroom/day head is on starboard and has a stall shower.

The flybridge has custom hard top, radar arch, full Strata Glass enclosure, storage forward under the seating and under the helm, bench seat port, starboard & aft, captain's chair centerline

The fully enclosed aft deck has a factory hardtop.  Aft deck furniture is new and there is a wet bar forward. The transom gate has  a ladder to the swim platform. 

NOTE: Headroom is 6'4" in the salon, 6'10" on sundeck, 6'11" on flybridge, 6'7" in master 6'4" in guest 6'1" guest shower 7' 8" in galley. The stateroom berth is 6' 5" long and guest is 6' 8" long.
