"Dad's Girl" has been owned and loved by the same family since 1978, and very well cared for by the professional craftsmen of Hartge Yacht Yard in Galesville MD, while always being stored under cover during that time. Over the last 5 years the family has have done all the proper repairs, and now it's now time to let her go to a new home! The overall condition of the vessel is far above average for its age, and there has been continual maintenance, repair and renewal, including recent structural repairs to the hull. A significant portion of the aft hull bottom was re-planked in 2020 as well as portions of the forward hull bottom. At this time the boat was painted in the paint shop by Hartge's. The vessel is equipped with a typical inventory of equipment and gear for its size. The navigation electronics are older but still functional. Powered by twin freshwater cooled GM Detroit Diesel 6-71N naturally aspirated diesel engines rated at approximately 225-hp each. The engines are original to the vessel and reportedly were overhauled in 2017. The diesel generator is an Onan 8.0-kW with 120V AC 60-Hz output, in a sound shield box. The decks and superstructure are constructed of plywood over solid wood deck beams and are covered with fiberglass. The hull planking is 5/4" Mahogany, on White oak frames, stringers and floors. Some of the original framing is comprised of three-layer steam bent frames. There have been numerous frame replacements, as well as sistering of frames, most notably amidships. Along with the hull planking in 2020 there were new shaft log timbers and associated framing, as well as the rudder post logs installed. Two large Monel fuel tanks are installed beneath the aft stateroom berth.
