In 2003 a new dinette floor plan with revised forward stateroom and head
became standard. Wing doors and a hardtop protect the aft deck
from the elements, and a fiberglass stairway descends to the swim
platform. Topside, the helm is forward with wraparound lounge
seating and wet bar aft. Volvo 370hp gas engines cruise the
Carver 396 at 14-16 knots (mid 20 top).

This 2003 Carver 396 "Chill" has the updated layout with the dinette to starboard. This is a low (500) hour Chesapeake Bay boat that is priced to sell.

The updated raised walkdeck design has allowed design changes that give the Carver 396 Motor Yacht a wider cabin - much roomier than one would expect. Adding to its appeal, the cabin living space has been combined into a spacious, open "great room" with plenty of salon seating and space for all sorts of extra amenities, like an end table, TV, and VCR. Two luxurious staterooms and two head compartments provide welcome privacy with the master head compartment providing separate head and shower compartments. Superb entertainment possibilities can be found everywhere, from the spacious cabin to the roomy bridge with its wetbar and L-shaped lounge - and the aft deck is no exception. Its integral bridge stairway and side deck wing doors provide convenient access, and the integral boarding platform with aft deck stairway and retractable boarding ladder make boarding easier.
